The A1278 is an 13 inch laptop built by Apple from 2008 till 2012. It features either a Core 2 Duo processor or
on the newer models an early i3/i5 processor. In terms of memory it has DDR3 support.
The laptop has a high build quality, it is very sturdy due the usage of an aluminium case.
Working on the A1278 is easy, unscrew the backpanel to gain access to the internal components. However there is
something to keep in mind. The 2008 model and 2009-2012 models
are different from each other. Not all parts are inter-exchangeable and we found repair
guides on the internet to not take this into account. The 2008 model is identifiable by the access door on the bottom panel,
providing quick access to the hard drive and battery. The 2009-2012 models have a single-piece bottom panel instead.
The laptop weighs approximately 1.96 kg and measures about 33 cm in width, 23 cm in depth, and 2.5 cm in thickness.
